Assesment methods :
During the semester 1 writing test will be per 20 points, the presentation of the seminar work per 20 points and the final writing exam per 60 points. Evaluation A needs to gain at least 93 points, evaluation B needs to gain at least 86 points, evaluation C at least 79 points, evaluation D at least 72 points and evaluation E at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student will achieve new theoretical knowledge and practical skillfulness in OS Linux. He will apprehend the philosophy of the free software and he is able to apply OS Linux in solution of physical and technical problems.
After completion of the subject the student is able to use OS Linux, he is able to apply knowledge in practice, student is able to analyse problems with OS Linux and then student is able to identify the solutions.
Course contents:
Basis of the Linux, installation, actualization, system loading, command interpreter. Distributions: Ubuntu, OpenSuSe; Operation system: installation, administration of the system; Graphic applications: GIMP, xfig; Office applications: LibreOffice, Koffice, TEX; graph drawing: kgeo, Kmplot, Gmplot; Desktop environments: KDE, Gnome; Modelling of mathematic and physical problems: Octave (Matlab); Scilab, Programming: C++,Kdevelop, Glade.
