Assesment methods :
Elaboration a semester project for 50 points and 50 points for the exam. Student can get grade A (excellent) after obtaining at least 93 points, grade B (very good) at least 86 points, grade C (good) at least 79 points, grade D (satisfactory) at least 72 points and grade E (sufficient) at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students enlearge their knowledge from chosen chapters of Physics, which have relation to scientific direction of PhD thesis. They understand basic physical principles of technical processes and gain knowledge on measurement methods.
Graduate is able to evaluate the basic physical parameters and is able to apply knowledge in the research and practice.
Course contents:
Parts of mechanics extending the knowledge of second degree of study (mechanical properties of materials, flow of real fluids, non-Newtonian materials, the apparent viscosity, ...). Materials moisture content, methods of measurement, sorption properties. Knowledge of thermodynamics application in technological problems (energy dissipation, the energy cycle in biological materials, heat and mass transport in materials, ...). Selected parts of electricity and magnetism (electric and magnetic properties of materials and their use in technological processes, ...).
