Assesment methods :
During the term students will have 3 written tests, the first test for 8 points, next two written tests each for 10 points. Students will process 4 home works - laboratory reports, each for 3 points. The value of final written exam is 60 points. Student can get grade A after obtaining at least 93 points, grade B at least 86 points, grade C at least 79 points, grade D at least 72 points and grade E at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After finishing of the subject student will understand the general principles from mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics. He will be able to apply theoretical knowledge from mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics at solving of physical tasks. The student will demonstrate knowledge by writing of tests. He will acquire practical skills in laboratory measurements and he will demonstrate practical skills by processing of laboratory reports. After finishing of the subject student is able to identify the solutions of physical problems from mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics and he is able to apply obtained knowledge in practice.
Course contents:
Mechanics. Kinematics – Mechanical movement of the mass point. Dynamics of mass point. Dynamics of the solid body. Mechanical work, energy and power. Basics from molecular-kinetics theory – ideal and real gas. Hydrostatics and hydrodynamics. Thermics – heat, temperature and heat transport. Thermophysical parameters. Thermodynamics - thermodynamic laws and its usage.
